I did a lot this summer. I started it off with an intensive week long leadership course through the scouts known as National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT). It was a week long course in which I learned a lot about effective leadership and communication through classes as well as activities. It ran all day for 6 days straight, getting up at 6:30 in the morning and going to bed at 11:30 in the night. I really feel as though I learned a lot and am really glad I went. Throughout the next few weeks, I worked at my job at Trader Joe's, spent time with friends, went to the gym a lot, went to a few parties, and overall had a lot of fun. I then had another summer camp to go to; this one, however, was not a leadership camp. There, I had a bunch of fun doing all sorts of things, such as hiking, mountain biking, fishing, hanging out with friends, and practicing my aim through rifle shooting, musket shooting, tomahawk throwing, and archery. I did, however get COVID a few days after coming home and this is where my summer started to finally wind down. I was sick for a week but luckily didn't have it too bad; there was only one day where I was really sick, the rest were just spent being overall fatigued and a little sick feeling. After getting better, I saw Oppenheimer and continued working and going to the gym, as well as hanging out with my friends a few more times. I am now ready for the current school year. In this class, I am most looking forward to working on the engineering projects. Outside of this class, I am looking forward to applying to college and turning 18.
